So excited (and a little apprehensive) about Wonder Woman's re-invention for DC's new direction, but I am pleased they gave her back the hotpants. This redesign is less severe for an icon of her calibre, yet fresh enough for a new direction.
I must say I hate the Nu52 version of Diana costume and the storyline. I tried to give it a chance but after 19 issues I was done. BUT with that being said, you have managed to make the new Wonder Woman look simply amazing! I enjoy your take very much! Good job!
I too liked the greek styled straps, but alas they went the way of the dreaded bomber jacket. lol. I totally agree with you though - she's an Amazon; in a society where there was no doubt a very healthy sense not being ashamed of ones' own body and physical prowess, why on earth would Diana be ashamed to show some leg? If anything, the pleas by 'fans' to have her cover up is just the perfect example of the restraints of 'man's world' imposing itself on Diana further. I'm pretty sure if she was real, the last thing you'd be gawking at was her T 'n' A if she was saving you from getting squished by some falling building or natural disaster. lol
You always make it look good darn it! All the pictures of I've seen in the new costume with hotpants that are official DC stuff make her look like "Axis Wonder Woman" to me. Under your pen this outfit looks cool though.
You're good. And as for you going free lance. I really admire you for that (maybe one day when I have enough skill and experience I'll do the same or just make a comic or whatever). Take care and maybe someday I might think of calling you up. Take until then.
Oh Jim Lee and his love of all things frou-frou. He needs some lessons in accessorizing. ANYWAY, I always love seeing Wonder Woman crop up in your gallery (which is frequently) because you always draw her extremely well. Your love and passion for the character comes across in your art so it's good to see that there are still people out there who love and respect Wonder Woman. She's not just tits and ass. She's heart and soul.
I like the crouched pose here as it's really showing off how well you can work with perspective. It also shows off her strength and musculature. She has some weight to her so she feels more like a warrior. As always, you cleverly work in her lasso to create intricate shapes which offer even more interest to the piece. In truth, this feels very much like a professional pin-up you'd see at the back of special editions of milestone comics (i.e. when they reach issue 25, 50, 100, etc.).
Like you, I'm excited yet apprehensive about Wonder Woman's place in the relaunch but I can only hope she'll maintain that beautiful heart of hers come September.
Loving her pose and just how gorgeous the costume looks. I too am glad that they gave her back the hotpants. I know a lot of people complain about what it supposedly implies, but would she really be Wonder Woman without them?
I really like this re-vamped costume for Wonder Woman...yes I will miss her 'traditional' look but I am more than happy with this new vision for her and your artwork continues to highlight all the positive attributes...continue your excellent work!! Simply stunning as usual... You bring such respect to the Amazon Princess...don't ever stop!!
